Peace Promise
Yesterday, our Key Stage 2 School Councillors visited Susan Hinchcliffe, the Leader of Bradford Council, at City Hall. We were invited to visit her after our classes wrote letters asking her to work for peace in our world. We had a tour of City Hall, and had a chance to ask her and Councillor Jabar questions about what the council is doing to work for peace.
We asked them both if they would agree to our Peace Promise, which they did. Our Peace Promise is:
- We will not stand by and do nothing – we will act for peace.
- There is no reason to fight against innocent people.
- All people must have access to food, fuel and water.
- We want to bring everlasting peace for all.
