To help with our zoom:

  • For today’s task, we are going to learn all about the homes that Stone age people lived in. We will be thinking about how their homes changed over time and how different they were to our homes today!
  • You might want to watch this video clip as it gives you some extra information. Just click on the picture to view. Click on the link to view. https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/articles/z479wty

Non-screen activity

Now I would like you to design your own stone age home and write a description of it using words and phrases from the previous slides. Use the pictures below for some inspiration. Don’t forget to include expanded noun phrases (adjective, adjective, noun) and conjunctions (fanboys).

Non-screen activities

1. Write a character description from a book that you are either currently reading or have previously read.

Describe what they look like, what their personality is like, and any cool things they do in the story. Use lots of details so we can picture them in our minds. Let your imagination run wild and have fun writing your character description!

Make sure to include expanded noun phrases, fronted adverbials, and adverbials. Please read your sentences aloud to check if they make sense.

2. Look out your window at the snow! It's a winter wonderland out there. I want you to write a description of what you see. Think about how the snowflakes fall, how the ground looks all white and fluffy, and how the trees are covered in a snowy blanket. Use your senses – what do you hear, see, and feel? Get creative and have fun with your writing! Make sure to include expanded noun phrases, fronted adverbials, and adverbials. Please read your sentences aloud to check if they make sense.
