Our school logo is much more than a picture. Every part of our tree represents what we want for every child at St Stephen’s.
Nurture – Our Roots
The roots represent Nurture.
Just as a tree needs strong roots before it can grow, children need to feel safe, known, valued and cared for. Our roots represent the relationships, care, encouragement and sense of belonging that provide children with strong foundations.
They also represent purpose — knowing who we are, what we value and what gives us the confidence to begin growing.
Grow – Our Trunk and Branches
The trunk represents Grow.
As children move through St Stephen’s, we want them to become stronger: growing in knowledge, confidence, independence, resilience and character.
From that strong trunk come the branches.
Our branches deliberately grow in different directions because there is no single path that every child must follow. Children discover different interests, talents, ambitions and possibilities. Our role is to give them strong foundations and then help them discover where their own journey might take them.
Flourish – Our 50 Leaves
The 50 leaves represent Flourish.
Look carefully at our tree and you will see that every leaf is different.
That is deliberate.
Just as no two leaves on our tree are exactly the same, no two children at St Stephen’s are exactly the same. Every child brings their own personality, experiences, strengths, interests, talents and dreams.
We don’t want our children simply to grow. We want each of them to flourish in their own way.
Together, those 50 individual leaves create one beautiful tree — just as the unique children, families and adults of St Stephen’s come together to create our school community.
