Nursery Admissions

A Personal Welcome to Our Nursery

As Headteacher of St Stephen’s CE Primary School, I know that choosing the right nursery for your child is an incredibly important decision. I would therefore like to personally invite you to come and discover what makes our Nursery in Bradford such a special place to begin your child’s education.

We offer a warm, caring and exciting Nursery environment where children are known as individuals, make friends, grow in confidence and develop a genuine love of learning. Our experienced Early Years team works hard to ensure that every child feels happy, safe and valued from the moment they join us.

If you are considering a Nursery place in Bradford, I would be delighted for you to visit us and see our Nursery for yourself.

Please contact the school office to arrange a personal tour. We can show you around, introduce you to our Early Years team and answer any questions you may have about Nursery places, admissions, sessions or starting Nursery at St Stephen’s.

We would love the opportunity to welcome you and your child to St Stephen’s and show you how we help our youngest children Nurture, Grow and Flourish.

Nursery Admissions – Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply for a Nursery place at St Stephen’s?

Please contact our school office. We can explain the Nursery admissions process, discuss availability and help you with your application.

Can I visit the Nursery before applying?

Absolutely. We actively encourage parents and carers to visit. Contact our school office and we will arrange a personal tour of our Nursery.

What will my child learn in Nursery?

Children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, developing communication and language, early reading and mathematics, physical development, creativity, confidence, independence and social skills.

How will you help my child settle into Nursery?

Every child is different. Our experienced Early Years staff take time to get to know children and their families, helping them become familiar with Nursery routines and develop secure relationships with adults and other children.

Does attending St Stephen’s Nursery guarantee a Reception place?

Nursery and Reception admissions are separate processes. Please speak to our school office for information about applying for a Reception place at St Stephen’s CE Primary School.

My child speaks another language at home. Will you support them?

Yes. We value the languages and experiences children bring to school. Our language-rich Early Years environment provides children with lots of opportunities to listen, talk, play and develop their confidence in English.

How can I find out about Nursery places, sessions and availability?

Contact our school office and we will be happy to discuss current Nursery places, sessions, admissions and availability with you.
