Subjects

At St Stephen’s, we believe every child deserves an ambitious, rich and carefully sequenced curriculum that enables them to nurture, grow and flourish.

Our curriculum is shaped through questioning, developed through talk and secured through knowledge. Across every subject, children build the knowledge, vocabulary and skills they need to think deeply, make connections and apply their learning with increasing confidence and independence.

Each subject retains its own distinctive character and disciplinary approach, while being part of one coherent whole-school curriculum. From Nursery to Year 6, learning is deliberately sequenced so that children build on what they already know and are prepared for what comes next.

Our ambition is simple: for every child to know more, be able to do more and explain their thinking with confidence.
