The St Stephen’s Experience

Nurture, Grow, Flourish.

The St Stephen’s Experience brings together the opportunities and support that help children discover their interests, find their voice and feel they belong.

At St Stephen’s Church of England Primary School in West Bowling, Bradford, our clubs, visits, pupil leadership and wider experiences work alongside our curriculum, shaped by our Christian vision: Nurture, Grow, Flourish. St Stephen’s CE –

How do our clubs help children discover new interests?

Our extracurricular clubs give children time to try something different, develop skills and enjoy activities with others. Explore the clubs available and find out how your child can take part. St Stephen’s CE –

How do visits and enrichment bring learning to life?

Globe with surrounding icons (map, binoculars, compass, books) symbolizing visits and enrichment programs.

Educational visits, visitors and residential experiences connect learning with the wider world. They give children new places to explore, new questions to ask and opportunities to grow in confidence and independence.

How do pupils have a voice and become leaders?

Illustration showing student figures with a megaphone and icons for dialogue, group, and protection, with the text 'Pupil Leadership & Voice' at the bottom.

Pupil councils and leadership roles give children opportunities to represent others, share ideas and take responsibility. Our Collective Worship Council, for example, gathers classmates’ views and helps shape worship. We want children to experience leadership through listening, contributing and making a difference. How do we teach children about staying safe?

Our safeguarding curriculum helps children learn about online safety, respectful relationships, personal boundaries and seeking help. Through age-appropriate learning, we encourage children to share worries and identify trusted adults. Adults remain responsible for protecting children.
